Sketches 170714

I can’t develop my rolls of film until next Tuesday (7/18) because I don’t get paid until then, so I decided to post a few of the sketches I’ve done so far this past month. I’m not sure anyone remembers but one of my goals this year was to fill up my sketchbook. The sketchbook I’m currently using is from the Bee Paper Company and is 6″ x 4″  with 93 lb paper.

This is perfect because I was looking for something hand sized but with thicker paper. Eventually I want to get good enough to sketch original characters but so far I’ve been using references.

Minus the Batman and the last two, the other sketches were referenced using fashion shoots. The last two sketches is ONE, a new K-Pop soloist from YG. I feel like I’m improving?? But I’ve only been sketching consistently for about three weeks now… sooooo maybe I shouldn’t get overly excited haha.

If anyone has any requests, I’ll include it into my next sketch post!

Thanks for reading!

Very cool! I like your style of drawing, especially the first one.

These are nice! I like your drawing style — it’s a bit unusual, but it’s cute :3 Coming up with original character design can be challenging. I’d much rather draw fanarts in that aspect (if I were to draw, to which I don’t).

Thanks for sharing them :D Do share more as you progress. It’s nice seeing other people’s creation ^_^

I love how you have really stuck with your gal of filling in your sketchbook! Go you for improving yourself and reaching your goal! ;) Thansk for the reminder of the “new year” goals actually – I’m going to have to look at mine again.

I love your drawing style, it’s unquie! Very cute! I remember when I did Art class at school (years ago now, wow!) When I had to draw people/characthers I could never just do it from the top of my head, I had to always use something for reference – you’ll get there!!

Tuesday is right around the corner! I love how clean and simple your sketches are! +1 talent XD. The notebook looks super legit and small enough where it’s portable and can get your imagination across. I love the Batman sketch! For some reason, I keep on thinking he’s the chibi version XD.

I think I mentioned this before, but I really like your goal of filling a sketchbook :) I also really like the style that these sketches are in! It’s a unique look! I think drawing from references is good practice and a good way to improve. I started sketching again recently and using references has helped a lot since I’m so rusty, haha. I look forward to seeing more from you!

These are fantastic! I especially love the first one – it’s so cute! This makes me want to start making time for drawing again. When I was 17, I used to draw every day, but I rarely do it now. I miss it so much!

I’m glad you’re keeping up with your goals for the year. I really need to start pushing myself to do more with mine, or I’ll just forget about them!

Your drawing style is really unique – in a good way! :) I guess it’s okay to use something for reference since you’re still starting out, but with a bit of practice you’ll be able to create your own characters. :)
